Bob Simmons was the first person to understand and apply the science of hydrodynamics to surfboard design way back in the late 1940’s.  His knowledge gained from naval architecture research led him to develop a radical new design incorporating features unheard of in surfing at the time. These features still remain essential in today’s modern surfboard designs.

Our Night Owl model inspired by the recent evolution of the Mini-Simmons remains true to the many design principals laid down by Simmons. The elements combine to offer a super-efficient surfboard that paddles effortlessly, glides and trims with speed to burn all without sacrificing maneuverability and control.

We dubbed our Mini Simmons the Night Owl as the first one we made was filmed by our good friend Phil Yeo who made a great short film for us highlighting the level of craftsmanship that is involved in our boards.  We had a short window in which to complete the filming and as a result, some ridiculously late nights were put in to hit the deadline and the Night Owl was born.
